A Music Festival that is Ahead of the Pack
..This year will mark the 11th- annual Coyote Music Festival, a family-friendly outdoor concert put on by the Cuyamaca College Music Industry program under the guidance of Dr. Taylor Smith, a Music Professor at the college. Every Spring students in the program learn the logistics of putting on a major event in the community by auditioning, promoting, and working closely with local music artists. The concert features six acts on two stages in a park-like setting. Lawn chairs, sunscreen, and a laid-back attitude are recommended. In the past the festival has been host to such great local acts as Mittens, Spero, Hocus, Goodnight Caulfield, Rhythm and the Method, Alex Lievanos, and many more. This year’s festival has been generating quite a lot of the attention because the class has teamed up local independent record label Mannequin Vanity Records (MVR) to create possibly one of the festival’s most impressive line-ups to date. (to be announced soon) This year’s event will be held May 4th on Cuyamaca’s beautiful Grand Lawn from noon to 4 pm. The Coyote Music Festival is free and open to the public. Like every year it’s going to be a howling good time.
