Hop N Roll

It's that time of the year again, the Main Tap Tavern is getting ready for their anniversary bash, my band WithOut Papers is getting ready to perform, and of course this means a batch of Lost Man Double IPA is being brewed. Since 2015 the Main Tap has collaborated with the band(and other outside sources) to create what was originally billed as " A Dank and Sticky representation of a San Diego DIPA inspired by WithOut Papers and brewed locally." The beer is really good and has totally changed my perception of craft beer. Since 2015 I have also noticed the trend of bands and beers. Beers such as Kid Rock's Bad Ass American Lager, Unwritten Law's Seeing Red Ale, Mastadon's Black Tongue, and Hanson's MmmHops have all came out over the past few years. And you know Kiss had to slap their name on a bottle and call it Destroyer. We can't blame these bands, the record industry is not doing so hot but craft beer is on the rise. Also look at the success Sammy Hagar has had with Cabo Wabo tequila, and Maynard James Keenan is pretty happy about his Judith wine. I can date Bands and beers all the way back to 1994 when 311 released a promotional home brewing kit with their single HomeBrew (yes it was for a Amber Ale). I might be a little biased but my favorite is still the Lost Man DIPA, but here are 5 others I recommend.
Iron Maiden's The Trooper by Robinson's A Great citrus taste that Bruce Dickinson himself helped make
Sublime Mexican Style Lager by AleSmith When you need a 40oz to freedom or a six pack
Anything by 3 Punk Ale
I highly recommend the Dead Ramone or Kill the Pour
Deftones Phantom Bride by Belching Beaver
IPA with hops handpicked by Chino
NOFX Punk in Drublic by Stone Brewing
A lager with hops. This was a great beer but Stone is discontinuing this product due to comments made by the band about the Las Vegas shooting. Get it while you still can.
Cheers,
